The Havamalt, a delightful blend of the Havanese and Maltese breeds, is a friendly and playful family dog. Known for their love of people and easy-going nature, Havamalts thrive in environments where they receive ample attention, as they don’t fare well when left alone for extended periods. This designer dog, likely originating in the United States during the 1980s, was part of a trend to create smaller, hypoallergenic, or gentler variants of popular breeds. Today, Havamalts can be either first generation, with two purebred parents, or second generation, bred from two Havamalt parents. They are excellent companions, particularly suited for families, as they get along well with children and other pets.
